The ABCs of ACOs Program Available Online at FCMA's Video Library

On September 4, the Fairfield County Medical Association presented an educational seminar entitled The ABCs of ACOs to assist members to determine whether it would be in their best interest to join an ACO and how to evaluate which ACO would be the best fit for them. FCMA Vocal During Legislative Public Hearings

Connecticut Vaccine Mandate: In response to the Connecticut Vaccine Mandate that requires almost all childhood vaccines be procured through the Connecticut Department of Health, FCMA has made it clear to lawmakers that many physicians feel the provider agreement unfairly exposes them to additional financial and legal risks and, therefore, the administrative burdens of participating in the CVP are too great.

Volume 1 No. 2 - April 9, 2013 - Certificate of Merit

Legislative Activity Continues

FCMA continues to represent the physicians of Fairfield County by opposing changes to the current Certificate of Merit for medical liability cases. Written testimony was provided at the April 1 Judiciary Committee hearing at the Capitol on HB 6687: An Act Concerning Certificate of Merit, which will significantly weaken existing medical liability protection for Connecticut physicians. FCMA is opposed to the proposed language changes in the Certificate of Merit bill.  Continue reading...

Vol 1 No 14 -  ConnectiCare backs off on Policy Concerning Electronic Remittance Advice Files

Recently, information was circulated to a few of the revenue cycle companies from ConnectiCare indicating the insurer’s intention to forward Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) files for all providers. The notice indicated the revenue cycle company would have to select the ERA files for its physicians and then securely dispose of the rest of the data.  Continue reading...
