DON’T CLICK THAT!

(Educating and Enforcing Safe Internet Usage)

Presented by:

Peter Verlezza, Managing Partner, SMB Networks, LLC.

Wednesday, September 27

12 noon to 2:00 p.m.

Norwalk Inn & Conference Center

99 East Avenue, Norwalk

Since the beginning of time, man has been tempted to eat the forbidden fruit—now, thousands of years later; man is tempted to click that link!  If you have internet in your medical practice and believe that you are protected because your IT Company has it “handled” or you have a technology “acceptable use” policy…think again.  The majority of issues that arise are the direct consequence of an employee clicking, downloading or opening a file that’s infected.  Once a hacker gains entry, they use that person’s email and/or access to infect all the other PCs on the network resulting in your critical patient information, financial records, and other important documents becoming compromised.  Make no mistake, medical practices are being compromised daily and the smug denial of “that won’t happen to me” is an absolute surefire way to leave yourself wide open to these attacks.

In this seminar, the following topics will be addressed:

  • How to recognize an infected e-mail that could comprise your computer
  • When your employee should and shouldn’t click that link
  • Internal and external threats to your practice
  • Common internet and phone scams
  • An in-depth review on phishing scams
  • What your technology “acceptable use” policy should contain (templates will be provided)

This seminar will address those who work with computers and smartphones. This is a “must attend” workshop for those who have internet and don’t want to fall victim to a cybercrime attack.

All FCMA members and/or attendees of this seminar will also receive optional free cybersecurity training for their practice. This training is online, can be completed at the user’s convenience and each participant will receive a certificate upon completion (a $597 value).

Limited seating; register early

Lunch included

Refunds will be given if we receive your cancellation within three (3) business days of the event.

In the interest of full disclosure, the speaker and his/her company, product(s), or service(s) is a preferred vendor of FCMA and services all of FCMA’s computer needs.
